Privacy Policy

bagchain acknowledges and agrees that it is acting as a “pass on” of “personal data” for the purpose to check-in baggage with the airline(s). For this process all applicable requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) are incorporated.

Boarding pass data elements include:

  • Passenger Surname
  • Airline Booking reference
  • Boarding Sequence Number
  • Flight number
  • Flight date
  • Departure station
  • Arrival station
  • Booking Class

bagchain represents and warrants that:

  1. it is aware of and understands its compliance obligations as a “pass on” under GDPR; 
  2. it has adopted a GDPR compliance policy/program
  3. it will pass on “personal data” only in accordance with the Customer’s instructions;

it shall comply with all applicable requirements of the GDPR to the same extent as required for the user.

For the avoidance of doubt, bagchain will act on the user’s request to check-in baggage and print a baggage label. In order to check-in baggage certain reservation data will need to be scanned from the boarding pass. The data captured from the boarding pass will be fully encrypted and directly passed on to the airline’s Departure Control System in order to validate, check-in the baggage and generate data to print a baggage label. By default, no “personal data” will be stored. 

bagchain confirms that the Content for the user will be processed using Cloud services within the European Economic Area (EEA). The Content will not be moved from the EEA region except in each case as necessary to comply with the law or a binding order of a governmental body. Unless it would violate the law or a binding order of a governmental body, we will give user notice of any legal requirement or order referred to.
